Day 8 Takeaway

We’ve made it one week! When we are waiting for an answered prayer, a week can feel like years and years may as well be decades if it’s a really big prayer. Imagine twelve years of trying everything and spending all you had just to continue suffering. The daughter here on day 8 pushed through years of shame and agony, in addition to the large crowds around Jesus, to touch His garment and be healed. A verse or two later Jesus goes to raise a twelve year old daughter from the dead.

I’m amazed that in one day, Jesus can love extravagantly and perfectly such different daughters. One pushed through the crowd to touch Him and He pushed through a different crowd to touch the other. Reflecting on these girls made me pray for you, reader. I pray that you are touched by Jesus today whether you’ve been looking for answers for years or sleeping for just hours. Even if everyone else thinks you’re a lost cause - even if you’ve given up on yourself - Jesus still heals.
