Day 1 Takeaway

Mary visits her aunt, imagine the scandal of the unwed, expecting young niece. I love how Luke does not even tell us what everyone must have been saying. The Bible only tells us what mattered most. The very sound of Mary’s greeting filled Elizabeth with God’s Holy Spirit. We don’t even know what Mary said… but we do know what (Who) she was carrying. The gift of God to all of us - Emanuel - the Word. What is said about us and what we say ourselves is infinitely overshadowed by the Word we get to carry.
